The text-message program is called Bursavo Funding Updates (the "Program"). It is operated by Bursavo, a brand of The Nelson M Group LLC. If you opt in, we send recurring automated text messages to the mobile number you provided with confirmation of your request, general education grant and financial-aid information, related service messages, and (only if you separately agree) promotional messages.
Bursavo is not a government agency, school, or lender, and does not guarantee any grant, scholarship, aid, or savings.
2. How to opt in
You can join by completing the form on our Get Started or SMS Notifications page and checking one or both of the separate, unchecked consent boxes: (1) informational texts, and (2) promotional texts. We then send a welcome text. You are never required to agree to receive text messages in order to use the Services or to buy anything. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can also join or rejoin by texting START to 877-270-0672. Our program texts are sent from 877-270-0672.
3. Types of messages and examples
- Informational: confirmation of your request, general education grant and financial-aid information, follow-up reminders about your request, and service notices.
- Promotional: new guides, deadline reminders, tips on managing college costs, and Bursavo news (only if you opted in to promotional texts).

We never ask you to reply with Social Security numbers, FSA ID credentials, student ID numbers, tax documents, or payment details by text.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies depending on your interests, location, and your requests. Most subscribers receive no more than about 8 messages per month. You may receive additional messages when you reply to us or request information.
5. Costs
The Program is free from Bursavo, but message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan. Contact your carrier for details.
6. How to opt out (STOP)
You can cancel at any time. Reply STOP to any message (you may also use STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT). We will send a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed and send no further messages unless you opt in again. If you opted in to both types of texts, STOP ends both. 8. Opting back in
If you stopped messages and want to rejoin, reply START to a previous Bursavo message or complete the opt-in form again.
9. Supported carriers and carrier disclaimer
The Program is available on most major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and many regional carriers. Carriers and their affiliates are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission from your carrier and your device's capabilities and coverage. Bursavo does not guarantee that every message will be delivered or delivered on time. The Program is for U.S. numbers only.
10. Privacy and mobile information
We respect your privacy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We may share information with service providers (such as our SMS platform and carriers) solely to deliver the messages and operate the Program. See our Privacy Policy.
11. Your responsibilities
You confirm that you are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number you provide and are authorized to consent to messages on it. Please tell us if your number changes. Text messages are not encrypted, so please do not include sensitive personal or financial information in replies.
12. Limitation of liability and disputes
The disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute-resolution provisions (including arbitration and class-action waiver) in our Terms & Conditions apply to the Program. To the extent permitted by law, Bursavo, The Nelson M Group LLC, and our service providers are not liable for any delay, failure, or misdelivery of messages, or for any damages resulting from messages sent in accordance with your consent.
13. Changes to these SMS Terms
We may modify these SMS Terms. We will post updates with a new "Last updated" date, and where required we will request your renewed consent.
